7 Steps to Keeping a Healthy Routine and Breaking Off Bad Habits
Leading a healthy and productive lifestyle is beneficial for so many reasons, perhaps the most important of which is increased productivity. Happy, healthy entrepreneurs are all the rage because they are not only more productive in their business and in their personal lives, they’re also more likely to ENJOY their careers and want to go to their mobile office, even on Mondays.
That’s exactly why, when it comes to business building with The Shopping Annuity, UnFranchise® owners and professionals everywhere are setting goals in their personal lives and making plans to ensure these goals result in business growth.
- Strategize for success
A solid plan will always increase your odds of success, especially when it comes to your own health and happiness such as tickets to the next big event. Planning is more in-depth than figuring out what to eat for dinner, you have to think about what you’ll do when a craving strikes. How will you stick with your plan?
- Put it in writing so it really sinks in
When the pressure is on and you really want to give in to temptations, write it out instead. According to Janet L. Wolfe, Ph.D., “This will make your bad habit more conscious.” Then, it will be easier to figure out what your triggers might be.
- Remain consistent
Changing your lifestyle and incorporating healthier choices can be difficult at first, but you must follow the pattern each day to sustain a healthy lifestyle. Make a plan that will be easier to incorporate, like exercising three evenings a week while the kids are at football practice, a TLS must right?
- Bait and switch
Once a bad habit has been broken, another one often replaces it. By making sure you replace your bad habits with not-as-annoying habits, whether that’s temporary or permanent depends on how it works for you. A nail biter, for example, might try chewing gum instead.
- Develop a support system
A strong support network creates people more likely to continue their healthy behaviors. Share your goals, progress, and achievements with friends and family and be sure to seek out healthy lifestyle tips that provide encouragement.
- Hold yourself accountable
If you’re not reaching any of your goals, you’re not progressing. You must hold yourself accountable by gauging how you’re doing, whether or not you’re reaching your goals, and what might work for you.
- Reward yourself a little
Motivation can be maintained by building incentives to force you to want to continue your healthy lifestyle, whether it’s new workout apparel, healthy cookbooks, or maybe even some new workout tunes for your iPhone, of course all from SHOP.COM. By rewarding your new behaviors with goal-driven rewards, your little choices will eventually add up to achieving your goals and leading an overall happier, healthier life.

Great tips here. One way I was able to break some of my bad habits was, I had a chart with my goals up in my office. And if I didn’t meet it, I wrote down in my journal how and why it didn’t happen. Keeping track of stuff like that may not work for everyone, but for me it’s very effective. I’m a note-taker and list-maker…..some call it obsessive and that’s fine, but I can see tangible proof of my goals and strive for them better that way. 🙂
great and really nice.
