Many of us are isolating ourselves in our homes in efforts to minimize our exposure to others. The more we distance ourselves from society – the less likely we are to spread germs. But let’s be real, we are starting to get restless! Here are some fun indoor activities that you can do to keep your kids entertained.
Give each other Makeovers
This one’s more girly, but anyone can participate. Just break out your makeup, nail polish and hair spray and try out different looks. To make it more fun, don’t let them see the final style until you are finished.
Go on a Hunt
Get creative and give your children clues for a treasure hunt. Who doesn’t love scavenger hunts? Create clues & place them around the house so they lead to another clue. Don’t forget the treasure at the end!
Have your kids pick out their favorite books and take turns reading. You can even have them act out a story if they really want to “play” the part.
Go on YouTube and find a dance that you can learn as a family. Don’t worry if you can’t dance, you can have a laugh with your kids!
Make a Fort
This is a crowd favorite – simply move some furniture and place blankets over top to create an awesome fort. Be sure to have comfy pillows and flash lights in your fort. Watching tv or playing a game is MUCH more fun in a fort.
Cards & Board Games
Bring out a deck of cards and teach your kids games like go fish, war, slap jack or build a house of cards. This is a great time to bust out those old board games in your closet too!
Find some easy exercise games like hop scotch, twister or hula hooping and let them burn off some energy. When it doubt, go back to YouTube and find a fun Zumba lesson to follow.
At some point, they will want you to surrender your phone or tablet. That’s okay, but have them play age appropriate games instead of scrolling on Instagram.
Kids have great imaginations, but after too many days at home in a row, they will likely run out of ideas. That’s where you come in! What indoor activities do you play with your kids?
