Whether you are a brand new UnFranchise® Owner or have been in the game for a while, it is always important to challenge yourself. Being a good business owner means setting goals and working to accomplish them. We want to help you break down your bigger goals into attainable and realistic tasks. Read on to learn more about establishing an action plan!
Find your passion
Figure out what motivates you. This might change month-by-month but decide, for this month, establish what it is and write it down. Do you want to fix up a room in your house, buy a new car or plan a vacation? Write down the monetary value of whatever it is that you want and build your action plan around working towards that value.
Set your goals
Be specific, realistic and timely. Start small and plan out what you want to do for the day, then the week, then the month. How many calls do you need to make today in order to stick to your action plan to be able to take that vacation you want later in the month? Handling tasks one day at a time will make it seem less overwhelming. Write these goals down, then, each week dedicate just a little more time than the last week to making calls and networking.
Stay focused
Make sure you stay the course. Follow those daily and weekly tasks that you set for yourself. Share your goals and tasks with your senior partner who can hold you accountable for completing them. Motivation is the key to success, you and your partners should help motivate each other to not forget what it is you are working towards.
Step outside your comfort zone
Each week, work on something that is outside your comfort zone. Are you unfamiliar with social media? Or are uncomfortable with talking in front of people? Reach out to your business partners for help! Play around on social media outlets to help promote your business or reach out to your business partners or family members and practice showing the business plan to them. The only way to grow is to break down the walls of your comfort zone.
Don’t sleep until it’s done
Don’t tell yourself, “Oh, I’ll just finish tomorrow”. Putting off the remaining tasks you have written out for yourself will only create a snowball effect. Stay the course and be diligent to finish off each day’s goals.
What if I get off track?
If there ever comes a time when you feel like you have really fallen off the track that you were hoping to be on, the answer is simple: get back to the basics. It happens to the best of us! If you are feeling unmotivated, revisit where your passion comes from; remind yourself what your reason was that you started this business. Attend a leadership school or local conference and reach out for help in finding your motivation again. Don’t get overwhelmed by all that Market America has to offer. Choose a “major” within MA; Motives, Isotonix, etc. and strictly focus on that one area for a while. This will help you rebuild your confidence and restore your passion.
