Our Favorite Earth Day Products
The following Snap products are all environmentally-friendly with biodegradable, non-toxic, phosphate-free and plant-based surfactants and essential oils.
What does it mean to be biodegradable, non-toxic, phosphate-free, and use plant-based surfactants?
Biodegradable
The product is able to get disintegrated (decomposed) by the action of micro-organisms such as bacteria or fungi biological (with or without oxygen) while getting assimilated into the natural environment. (Source) In other words, biodegradable means it will eventually break down to its basic components and blend back in with the earth.
Non-Toxic
Non-Toxic: the product doesn’t contain chemicals known to be toxic. As such, it’s safe to use as directed.
Phosphate-Free
The product lacks phosphorus. Phosphorus is a naturally occurring nutrient that is necessary for plant growth. Phosphate mines are projected to dry up by the end of this century, and the phosphates in these products can have negative impacts on the environment. (Source)
Plant-Based Surfactants
Surfactants are the primary component of cleaning detergents which stir up activity on the surface you are cleaning to help trap dirt and remove it from the surface. (Source) Most surfactants have always been synthetic, but we have adopted the use of plant-based alternatives!
Reforestation Assistance
Last year marked four years since Market Taiwan had begun a collaboration with Taiwan’s Forestry Bureau (COA). Market Taiwan donated nearly $400,000 to plant more than 45,000 trees on 14 pieces of land in Taiwan. Claire Ni, the Market Taiwan Country Manager, commented on the accomplishment:
“The trees we planted are the species that attract bees for their nectar. These are also native tree species in Taiwan. We hope that through the tree-planting and afforestation activity, wildlife can also come to this land to nurture its next generations.”
Momentum Solar

Solar energy functions as such: sunlight hits the solar panels. The panels create energy. The energy is converted into electricity. The electricity is then used, or otherwise redirected back into the grid and recorded by utility companies so as to credit you for your energy “banks”!
