Uberization: The Future of the Shopping Annuity — Chris Peddycord
It’s Shopping Annuity time as Vice President of Business Integration Chris Peddycord presented next on stage. The new Shopping Annuity Assessment is live. The Assessment is meant to create belief because a UFO has to believe that they can save money by converting spending into earning. All of the new enhancements are live, which specialize in personalization in order to make the Shopping Annuity easier and more convenient.
Chris identified new additions to the Assessment that are coming soon such as a new tracking system to project your savings. A new quick view is also on the way, which will highlight product testimonials and allow for UFOs to use Express Pay. Personal recommendations from UFOs will make it easier to find products that you want. The homepage of UnFranchise.com is currently being redesigned to become more user-friendly and inviting. “When we have a system that has worked for more than 25 years, why are we not making more noise about the Shopping Annuity?”

Shopping Annuity – JR Ridinger and Lenny Allene
In an electric entrance, Chairman and CEO JR Ridinger hit the stage to discuss the Uberization of the Shopping Annuity. Uber matches driver to rider and rider to driver. That is exactly what the Shopping Annuity is like, matching product to people and people to product.
JR compared this presentation to a class in a university. This is Shopping Annuity Economics 101 with One to One Marketing and Digital Aggregation. “I want to change your thinking from wrong to right and from locked up to possibility thinking,” JR stressed the importance of staying ahead of the curve because, in the digital age, things are changing constantly. In order to explain this session on the Shopping Annuity, JR used math and logic. You don’t need to get both principles, but you need to have an understanding of at least one.
“The Shopping Annuity is not a thing. It is a process. It’s a way of life and a way of thinking.” Nothing in terms of principles has changed since Market America’s inception. The plan works. JR said that in a digital age, the power of the economy can go back to the consumer and that will change the world.
What Market America has that no one else has: a monetized network, a universal shopping cart, products, tracking system, Shopping Annuity Assessment, and the MPCP.
“Would you go to another business and buy a product at the retail price or buy it from your own business at wholesale?” This is why the Shopping Annuity works. JR brought up 500 BV and explained how UFOs can reach it every month with the creation of Shopping Annuity BV, or SA-BV. Starting next month, UFOs can choose products that they would want to be on the BV line and vote on it every month. Your order = 1 vote. These BV products are not for retail, but they can get a UFO over the 500 BV mark every month.
There are three categories of products: BV products for retail, SA-BV products, and IBV products. JR brought up the survey from MAIC2017 where UFOs voted on what products they would like to see on the SA-BV line. Toothpaste was at the top of the list, and now available is the new Shopping Annuity Toothpaste. “You are saving money when you buy products on SHOP.COM. We are not trying to get you to spend. This polling process for new BV products will eventually become a standard operating procedure. The results will be based on how many people buy the products. This is the Uberization becoming a reality. The Mass Marketing Paradigm Shift is underway. Before, the consumer pays for it all and doesn’t get rewarded or paid for what they buy. JR said that we do not need the brick and mortar system anymore. “Do something with your life. Vote. You have the power!”
We can now match product to SA members and members to product by connecting them to the best product landing page and item, best source, or the best selection. This is great for building your teams. Every SA member or Shopping Annuity Master Member (SAMM) has taken the Assessment and has a list. Help them find it and narrow selections. Push it to them rather than struggling to find it. You need to be a SAMM in order to sell the client program.

JR invited Master Coordinator and Market UK leader Lenny Allene to the stage to discuss how the Shopping Annuity is a belief system. Len believes that every time you talk about the Shopping Annuity, you are talking about money. It’s money that they can earn when they convert spending into earning. “The trick is finding out how much money people need to spend. It doesn’t matter what number they give you.
Recruiting – JR Ridinger
Once again, Chairman and CEO JR Ridinger electrified the crowd as he made his way on the stage. JR talked about Deductr, the new tax app that Andrew Weissman touched on earlier. This app will help you document and record all of your expenses so you can make the most out of your deductions. “I don’t see this as a financial tool. I see it as a Shopping Annuity tool.” This tool can populate your Assessment.
This session is about recruiting, but according to JR, he does not recruit. He “qualifies.” You want to get people into the group that are going to be dedicated and committed UFOs. JR spoke about how Elizabeth Weber first started in the business and how her enthusiasm and commitment attracted more customers to sign up. You have to qualify people, not recruit them. “It’s about engaging in conversation. You build relationships first.”
Recruiting is a numbers game. The more people you talk to, the more Go Now’s you can find. Your probability for finding new clients increases with the more people you talk to. To explain this, JR used the bean jar analogy. You don’t try to just get two people in your business at the beginning. You need to project successfulness and talk to as many people as possible. The more people you talk to, the more beans go into your jar. “If the right people respond correctly and ask the right questions, you qualify them for your business. If you do that, the nuts rise to the top.”
Networking and developing relationships are how your business can grow. Not everyone will qualify so you have to ask yourself, “Do you qualify?” JR said that residual income is reserved for the elite, not the average person. Getting paid for the rest of your life is not for average people. “It’s what everyone seeks, and we have it!”
In order to see if you qualify for the UnFranchise Business, you need to see the plan three times. If you can’t make it to the third time, you’re probably not going to join. But if you do, then you can get a tryout from your sponsor.
“The length of time you have been in the business is not when you signed up. It starts when you become a Master Member and show the business.” JR wants you to forgive yourself for your problems. Your solution is the Shopping Annuity. When you are a SAMM, you can sell the client program. JR shared a video of Jerry Siciliano and how he was the best at qualifying.
JR told a story about passion and how people need to find it in order to have purpose in their lives. Make friends with everyone. Start a conversation.
Here are some qualifying preliminary questions:
- Do they agree with the savings in time + transportation by changing how they shop of at least $4000/yr.?
- Do they agree with the government statistics on income and spending. Do they fit the profile?
- Do they spend the 250BV in dollars on the MA consumable products and will they try them one time? If they like them they put them on auto ship. If they like the other brand then they will get SA-BV product or another brand on shop.
- Do they want to take the Assessment? Do they understand the savings, the credit they get their own purchases and they they will earn on the Assessment?
- Will they invest an hour to do the Assessment with you?
“Switch from brick and mortar to click and order.” You must explain this and offer to assist and help just like helping someone do the MPCP. Now, they have the option of double IBV as well instead of Cashback! If it works for one of your customers, they will spread it to another person and so on and so forth. The only way you can see if it works is to try it.
It’s clear that making the SAMM is one of JR’s messages that UFOs need to understand before they leave this conference. All of the modifications that have been made were designed for more UFOs to achieve SAMM.
JR compared dancing to having a conversation in the business. The more fluent you are in Market America topic, the better dancer and better UFO you will be. “Sponsoring someone is like having a baby. You need to take care of your person and watch them grow. You have to be there for them.” Follow up, follow up, and follow up some more! JR invited the following people on stage to talk about recruiting: Elizabeth Weber, Alice Chiou, Heidi Gruss, Sarah Rose Stack, and Don Martin.
International Field Chairman Elizabeth Weber has two techniques to recruiting: you get people to recruit her or you pop the question. Make it fun and talk to everyone! “You have to ask a lot of questions and listen, listen, and listen.” Elizabeth teaches people how to make money online and how to convert spending into earning. Nothing is going to happen if you do nothing!
Senior Executive Field Vice President Alice Chiou understood that business can change your life. You have to force yourself to learn what this business is all about, which is convert spending into earning.
Senior Master Coordinator Heidi Gruss talked about how there are four ways to make money in this business. By shopping at 2 partner stores, Heidi has saved over $1700 in less than two years in the business. Heidi can’t ask anyone on her team to do something in this business if she won’t do it first.
Director of Internet Sales and Training Sarah Rose Stack discussed how to prospect and recruit. If you start with the Shopping Annuity first, by the time you get to the MPCP, your clients will start to realize that they can do it. There is really no convincing because they can visualize themselves in this business.
Director Don Martin discussed how the Shopping Annuity is the most powerful investment in the world. This is why you need to recruit and need to recruit in a big way. It comes down to knowing what you’re in and then knowing how to talk about it.
