Welcome to the 2020 Market America | SHOP.COM International Convention – Loren Ridinger
Senior Executive Vice President Loren Ridinger kicked off the company’s first ever online International Convention. Loren said, “This is the new normal and we’re ready to rock this place. We adapt, we adjust, and we’re going to do this big.” Loren officially welcomed all the entrepreneurs watching at home and thanked all of the healthcare heroes and essential workers for their sacrifices during the pandemic.
Loren mentioned how the company champions diversity and how love will always conquer hate. Loren said, “If we’re going to get through these difficult times, then we’re going to have to do it together.” Market America is set up to battle the toughest of circumstances, even pandemics, because of the UnFranchise and our revolutionary products.
Loren reiterated that this event can change your life if you let it. She closed by saying, “It doesn’t matter when you go into Market America, it matter when Market America gets into you.”
After Loren left the stage, entrepreneur and business mogul Daymond John recorded an awesome video message for the crowd.
Marc Ashley’s First Presentation
President & COO Marc Ashley hit the stage, which means it’s time to talk about the UnFranchise and Market America’s products. Marc believes that the company has the best products to adapt with the times. Marc said, “Let’s start this presentation off with a bang!” Marc discussed a fall favorite, pumpkin spice lattes. Since $424 million pumpkin spice lattes were sold last year alone, Market America wanted to find a way into that market so they created the TLS® Pumpkin Spice Nutrition Shake. This is a product that will taste just like your favorite pumpkin spice latte, but without all the added sugar and guilt. Right now, the product is available in the United States and will eventually come to more markets. Marc preached, “That’s a theme this weekend. Staying healthy and getting wealthy.” Plus, if pumpkin spice does well, a cookies and cream flavor could be on the way sooner than later.
In Market America, we are built on product and powered by people. Marc said, “For over 29 years, Market America has been leading the way with the best quality products on the market.” Market America mastered the product brokerage system. Market America products are backed by science, clinical studies, and a unique delivery system. The goal is all about helping entrepreneurs to live a long and healthy lifestyle.
It’s been an unprecedented year for Market America despite the difficult times. Marc acknowledge this year has been a significant challenge due to a lack of control. Marc said, “The true making of a company is what it does during turbulent times. We’ve not only survived together, we thrived together.” The number of UFOs and amount of sales have increased in each subsequent month since March. Market America is an essential business because we supply products that people must have and need. These products are for your health, safety, and well-being. The Department of Homeland Security reiterated this sentiment.
Marc discussed Snap II Cleaner Disinfectant’s rise in popularity and it’s efficiency as a disinfectant during this pandemic. Since Market America remains proactive and responsive, the company created Responsive Products under the Shopping Annuity® Brand, Super IBV live, and Responsive BV line. The company’s hand sanitizer and clear shield have been flying off the shelves. It’s important to note that the company has not been price gouging on hand sanitizer. The price, BV, and IBV remained the same.

In a video message, Deb Grigas shared her journey as an UnFranchise Owner. Deb said, “Persistence is key. I heard no after no after no. You learn, dust yourself off, and go back out there.” Deb explained how this won’t be easy, but it will be worth it. It takes one person to change your business and it takes one person to change your life. It all starts with teamwork.
Motives – Maria Checa
Creative Consultant for Motives Maria Checa stressed that we all need to take a few moments to be silent and think. Maria said, “We all have the potential to create new ways. It’s all in us.” Things may be scary, but Maria explained how it usually works out for the best. “We have learned that if we move forward with an optimistic attitude, great beginnings are on your horizon,” said Maria.
Maria introduced the new Motives campaign, Horizon. The Horizon palette includes rich and pigmented colors that blend perfectly for all faces. Makeup is more relevant than ever, and you need to tell your customers. Maria said, “We need to show up for ourselves. This is why makeup is more important than ever. It helps with our self-confidence.”

Power Profile – Marc Bernacchi
In a video message, Mark Bernacchi shared his upbringing and how when he first got into the business, he felt like a tourist. Mark said, “I had no vision. In 2014, I went into the World Conference with a new attitude. I needed to make a commitment to get this done.” Mark stressed you need to make a decision and commitment. Do the three result-producing activities. Mark realized that he completely unsubscribed from the 45 year plan and believed in the 2-to-3 year plan.
