If you’ve been utilizing social media to build your UnFranchise business, then you know that the “social” in social media means engagement. As exciting it is to watch your following grow, it doesn’t matter if that audience isn’t interacting with your content. Simply put: zero engagement, zero value! That’s why this week’s Social Media Monday has the engagement hacks you need to revamp your social media presence in 2018!
Use Social Proof
Social proof has a powerful psychological effect and can be a real advantage when it comes to boosting engagement! Social proof basically means following the herd, so why does this help? Well, because you’re not telling fans to engage with your brand — their friends and followers are! Here are a couple ways to use this to your advantage:
- Encourage product reviews so others can see them, too
- Display the number of shares on your blog posts
- Utilize corporate pages and influencers
One of the many perks of being an UnFranchise Owner is that your brand has it’s own corporate brand page! Whether it’s TLS Weight Loss, Motives, Isotonix, or NutraMetrix, you have access to professionally designed graphics, blog posts, and information from Market America experts to serve as social proof that your products are worth buying! Make sure you follow your brand’s corporate pages (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, and YouTube) and utilize the resources available.
Reschedule, Re-use, Repeat
Just think about how inefficient it is to spend an hour creating an image or writing a blog post only to use it once! The best social media marketers know how to re-use their content so that it reaches the maximum number of fans and makes use of the time you spent creating it, and there are a few options: rescheduling and re-purposing.
Rescheduling is more than simply scheduling out the same post one per week for a month. It means looking for the highest-performing posts, changing relevant hashtags, and including new images to help your content reach the most people in a realistic time frame. Some content such as recipes, makeup looks, or motivational quotes are “evergreen” + great to re-use for as long as your followers are still interested!
Repurposing is simply taking content in one format (a list of weight loss tips) and using that same information in another format (an infographic of weight loss tips). Here are a few ideas for repurposing your content:
- Turn articles into video scripts
- Create a story series with behind-the-scene interviews
- Turn presentations into a Slideshare
- Turn research + statistics into colorful infographics
- Create a carousel image of the top images of the month
- Create a blog post of your top posts
Read the Room
Engaging with your social media followers isn’t much different than engaging with people in-person. Imagine walking into a room of people at a party and think about what you’d do first. Chances are, you’d probably scan the room to see how people are acting, how relaxed it is, and what everyone seems to be talking about! You can use this same skill to boost your social media engagement by seizing the mood of your fans and running with it using trending topics + questions! Here are a few other tips:
- Happy posts receive about 2 more responses per post than neutral posts, so be excited!
- Know + tap into trending topics and hashtags
- Create a buzz around a new product, ingredient, sale, or giveaway
