It’s only been a few days since Market America International Convention 2014 but we are still filled with excitement over all the new MotivesCosmetics.com features, especially the Motives Online Parties! We want to make sure that you know all the right steps to take to create your own party, shop with your friends and earn fab free products and discounts. Read on to see a step-by-step tutorial to host your own Motives Online Party:
Step 1 – Let’s get this party started. Head over to MotivesCosmetics.com and click on the “Host” tab. From there, you can choose to start your Motives Online Party by clicking on “Schedule Your Party Now” and then “Create Your Party Now.”
Step 2 – Choose your party theme. You can pick from six different colors: blue, green, mint, peach, pink and purple. Type your name, your party name and a message to your guests. There will be a message already written for you that you can use as is, modify it, or change it completely by clicking inside the text box and create your own.
Step 3 – Now it’s time to choose the length of your party! You will pick a start date for your Motives Online Party and select the number of days you will like your party to last. You can pick from 3, 5, or 10 days – whichever one you think would help you reach your goal will be the best fit for you!
Step 4 – Once you’ve selected how long your party will last, it’s time to choose a category to be featured during your Motives Online Party. But don’t worry, your guests will still be able to purchase any product they want during the event and still get their 10% off!
Step 5 – This is where it gets even better! Now that you have selected the category that you want your party to focus on, you get to choose up to 3 of your favorite looks to show your guests. These looks will be showcased on your party’s page with the products used to get the look and guests will be able to choose to purchase the entire look with just one click!
Now you’re ready to promote your party! In order to guarantee success, you need to make sure you are spreading the word about your event on all of your social media channels. Also, if you ever need to go back to your party and edit it, just go to MotivesCosmetics.com, log in with your username and password, click on my account, then click on parties and you’ll be able to see all your open, closed, and coming soon parties!

I quickly went though these exact steps to set up my very first Motives Online Party last night! I found the process to be almost effortless and so simple a 2nd grader could do it. Thanks to all involved for an amazing turnaround and implementation of such a revolutionary and innovative approach to what many in the industry dread – home parties!
Woohoo!! We’re so glad and incredibly excited for your first Motives Online Party!
We set up a party for my daughter to host that started last night! She is 14 and is a new Motives Teen Associate. What an incredible way for young women to learn about being an entrepreneur, running a business and earning money! Her party is the kick-off event to launch her Motives Cosmetics business. Can’t wait to see the results!
That’s amazing, Tami! We can’t wait to hear how it goes! 🙂
Hey guys! I am currently having an online Facebook party, and if you all would like to follow along with my party for inspiration and examples, it ends on Saturday. Here is the group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/256811221182968/
I will keep the group open after the party in case anyone would like to use it as an example! If anyone would like to know…I have been posting through Hootsuite as well as live, as well as on my personal Instagram, Twitter and Facebook and my business Facebook page and blog.
Thank you for sharing your tips, Nohea!
Thank you so much for sharing! I’ll be curious how it turns out. Keep us posted 😉
I created my party but want to edit it before I share. I went through the steps under my account to find it, yet I can’t see where I can go to edit it, even when I’m in “view party” mode. Can you please advise? Thank you!
(also, just FYI, there is a typo on the blog. The blog reads tips, comments, or “concerts”…I think you mean “concerns”)
Oops! All fixed! 😉

For updating events: Once you have created an event and the party is not yet live, go MotivesCosmetics.com > My Account > My Parties and click on the party name and edit it. Once the party is LIVE, you cannot change or edit.
How do I change the status of the event from open to closed?
Also is there a way for me to update the event once it’s been created? (ie. change the looks and featured products)
Hi May!
Once the event is opened, you have to wait until party is over (depending on how many days you wanted the party to last). Once that day comes, the party will automatically close.

Yes, the latter is what I wanted to know as well. (please disregard my comment above as it’s the same question). Would like to change greeting for party as well as pics before posting. Thank you!
Ah, got it. Thank you!
Thanks Melissa!
My first part of the question relates to hosting a party that is private and closed to only people that I invite to. Is that a possibility?
I am so excited to do my first Motives Online Party! But I was wondering– At convention Loren mentioned putting it on our FB page and connecting them all together.(how do we do that?). Once we open the party and it starts, what are some things that we should be doing? Should we be posting pictures, writing all sorts of comments, posting tutorials??
Also is it possible to just get the link and email or facebook individual people separately instead of sharing the event to all my friends on facebook?
On my first try to set up a test party, the information displayed show my husband’s name and contact info which come from our Market America home page. Since I have a web site for cosmetics how do I get that information to show on the invitation. Also when I set up a group on Facebook how does my invitation get posted there?
