Welcome to Day 2 of MAIC2019! If Day 1 was a sign of things to come, MAIC2019 is on track to be the greatest International Convention ever. Vice President Andrew Weissman once again did his pre-show address but this time, he had a very special guest.
The surprise guest was Congressman Mark Walker. Congressman Walker embraced the entrepreneurial spirit and thanked everyone for making their way to Greensboro.

Vice President Andrew Weissman and Vice President of Sales Jim Winkler recognized the following groups for their successful efforts in Market America: Directors and Executive Directors.
Marc Ashley and Steve Ashley
President and COO of Market America Worldwide, Marc Ashley, returned to the stage for the second part of his presentation. Marc briefly recapped what he discussed yesterday, which revolved around Market America’s life changing Market America products. Marc said, “You continue to be chained by the ‘big chains.’ Why are you loyal to merchants who are putting your money in their pocket at your expense? You’re getting 0% on consumables on Target and Walmart.”
Marc began to touch on Super IBV products such as mouthwash and toothpaste. These products offer more IBV on consumable products than if you were to buy them from a local merchant. The Super IBV products are generic brands that work exactly the same as name brands, but they receive more IBV. Possible products on the way are sponges, cotton balls, cortisone cream, and instant noodles.
In addition to those products, Rastelli’s Meat will be added to the Super IBV line. There are currently four fresh market bundles that include high quality meats like chicken breast, steaks, ground beef, and top sirloin. Marc continued to discuss how UFOs can get paid to eat. SHOP Local is an easy way to support local merchants and earn IBV. With over 20,000 merchant locations, that’s a lot of chances to use SHOP Local. Furthermore, a new partnership with Kroger Ship will allow UFOs to shop for groceries and earn IBV.
Then, Marc rattled off Partner Stores and promotions that will allow UFOs to earn IBV. The biggest new partnership announced was with Tidal. Tidal is one of the top music streaming services on the market. UFOs can earn up to 25% reoccurring IBV monthly. Also, UnFranchise Premier Travel allows UFOs to earn IBV for travel accommodations such as hotels.
The Shopping Annuity Master Member Program was the next topic of conversation. The new qualification of 300 IBV instead of a $1500 allows UFOs to focus on converting spending into earning, not money. Anything with IBV counts towards the SAMM. With all of the IBV enhancements, there’s no easier time to qualify for the SAMM than now! Since this change was implemented, the increase in IBV accumulation from UFOs has increased exponentially!
Marc said that the company has made it easier to hit the 10, 20, 30 IBV accruals. Marc introduced the Shopping Annuity Kits. There are four 10 IBV kits, two 20 IBV kits, and two 30 IBV kits.
To explain the new technology on SHOP.COM, President and COO of SHOP.COM Steve Ashley joined Marc onstage. Steve said that SHOP.COM releases 100s of new products each week. Steve said all 30+ Market America brands will have exclusive pages on SHOP.COM by World Conference.
The search on SHOP.COM is rapidly increasing. Now, there have been 300 million Partner Store Products and counting in the database. This makes it super easy to search and adds no pressure to your customer. It should be on SHOP.COM by September and soon after, UnFranchise.com.
Marc closed out his speech by discussing how Market America | SHOP.COM continues to expand globally. In a blockbuster announcement, Marc announced that Kevin Buckman has been named the Executive Vice President of the Asia Pacific and will spend 8 months of year in the Asian Pacific markets. Finally, Marc announced a strategic alliance with Tmall Global. With this partnership, Market America will be able to have a footprint in the Chinese market. All US exclusive brand products will be sold on Tmall Global. Within several months, all new customers in China will be assigned to UFOs who have active ordering customers in China. This will be launched early next month.
It was not time for our Founder, Chairman, and CEO JR Ridinger to hit the stage. JR expressed that today’s presentation is not to get you to believe, but to change your habits. This presentation is focused on finding the right people. JR said, “How to find the people that make six figures. How to find the people that become directors.”
JR emphasized that people lead to people. He’s here to get the UFOs out of the chicken coop. This session and training is called, “Becoming a Hopeless Success.” It’s the process of forming a geese procession in a binary “V” formation. The beginning phases involve finding the right people. It’s prospecting, not recruiting. It’s a process of developing relationships. Beginners can make 2 evaluation calls per week. The key is to do 2 a week for 52 weeks = 104.
Building relationships is like dancing with the themes. You don’t jump into the business right away. You feel people out and take it slow. Build the relationships and then slowly introduce them to the business if they qualify. JR mentioned the special Chairman’s and All In sessions on Utopia IV, where he mentioned how he figured out how to get people to lead other people. This is the basis behind imprinting. It’s time to go back to the basics.
There are things UFOs Must do weekly. They are: Use evaluation approach to secure two presentations per week, Be a product of the product, Sell Tickets to the next GMTSS event to prospects, and Measure, monitor adjust & control personally your team 1-4 above. JR said, “We’re going to give an award to people who regain their pin level. That’s your victory!” JR loves when UFOs come back to hit their pin levels after losing sight of their goal. JR then reiterated how sponsoring is like taking are of a baby. You have to take care of it and help it grow. Evaluation approach leads to qualifying. In order to qualify, you must see the plan at least 3 times.
JR then explained the phenomenon of imprinting and how it relates to the UnFranchise Business. Imprinting is the natural phenomenon found in fowl that serves as evolution’s way to ensure the right habits and behaviors are learned by the next generation. Imprinting is a result of genetics and is required for the bird to succeed and even determines how well they do in life. It is difficult to change one’s habits once they have been imprinted.
Imprinting directly correlates with the UnFranchise® Business because the same principles apply for both. Imprinting process is identical to what happens to someone when they come into the business (right or wrong) and affects what they do and duplicate. When you bring someone into the business, they are a essentially a newborn. Newborns have to learn basic skills in order to survive. The same can be said for new UFOs. Their sponsors need to imprint the right techniques in order to thrive as a entrepreneur in this business.
Chickens, ducks, and geese all practice imprinting, but JR wants UnFranchise Owners to be geese that fly in a “V” formation. “You will end up with the right people if you do this process correctly,” said JR. JR invited a team of UFOs to join him onstage to give a live presentation on imprinting. With JR leading the flock, the UFOs all learned to fly behind him
Power of Events – Fat Joe
President of Urban & Latino Development Joseph “Fat Joe” Cartagena said “It’s easy to be a follower, but I’d rather lead so that others may follow me.” Fat Joe explored his childhood and how his humble beginnings led him to the man he became today.
Joe said, “I’m never satisfied. I’m always determined for success.” Joe reiterated that Market America is one giant family. Visualizing success and speaking victory into existence are two keys that Joe shared.
In order to inspire belief, Joe shared a motivational story about how his mother has survived 28 years after being diagnosed with cancer. She had a 1% chance to live and she’s still living. Joe said, “Do what you wanna do while you still can.” While you’re on this Earth, you need to dream big and live your life you’ve always wanted.
