Welcome to Day 4 of MAIC2019! We would like to thank everyone in attendance for a great International Convention. Day 4 featured the young & growing UFOs, Motives, Conquer, TLS, and an interview with JR Ridinger.
Young & Growing UFOs – The Younger Generation of UFOs
Executive Coordinator Jennifer LeSuer kicked off this session. Jennifer shared how her father used to tell her that she “needed to be his retirement plan.” Jennifer went to college and wanted to work on Wall Street, but her meeting with Dritan Hodo changed her life.
Jennifer didn’t understand the business at first, but she didn’t want to miss out on what was about to happen. Jennifer said, “I’ve learned 3 lessons in Market America. You need to have persistence, a big heart/loyalty to your team, and work harder than you worked the day before.”
Master Coordinator Nick Friday and Executive Coordinator Brittany Witcher were up next. Nick shared his story first and said he wants to explain how you go from entrepreneur to “entrepreWarrior.” Nick said he had to change his mindset because it would correlate to your UnFranchise Business. Nick said, “I want to challenge you all to train by the old methods.”
Brittany explained how she’s very passionate in her life. Brittany compared the business to a trampoline jump. Sometimes, it’s not pretty, but it’s fun and worth it.” Nick and Brittany ended their speech by urging the crowd the purchase their tickets to the events.
Next up was Professional Coordinator Caitlin Gormley. Caitlin thanked her team and the Ridinger family for supporting her on her journey. Caitlin shared that we tell ourselves lies that can hurt our business. Lies such as “I must do it all myself,” “I need my lucky break,” and “I don’t know how” are excuses that can hinder your growth as a UFO. “Tell yourself that you are a Director. You are a leader. You have to step into your potential,” said Caitlin.
Supervising Coordinator Colton Whited discussed how his parents, David and Stacy Whited, mentored him and gave Colton the ability to show the MPCP. Colton stressed that if you don’t know the answers, rely on your senior business partners. Colton said, “You are a team. Use them and rely on them to help.”
From there, Colton said that he went all in on learning the skill of booking the follow up. The fortune is in the follow up. You’re job is to gain interest and keep booking follow ups. With your prospects, they may still be in “if” mode. However, they’ll eventually go from “if” to “when.”
Next to the stage was Supervising Coordinator Kevin Duong. He remembered where it all started for him, which was at a Dunkin Donuts in Delaware. Kevin said, “If you haven’t cried and wanted to quit, then you have been building the business.”
Kevin emphasized that true leadership is an “all in” mindset. One of Kevin’s inspiration is his brother, who has been right by his side, building the UnFranchise every step of the way. Kevin believes in the impossible and visualizes it. “The key is the ticket. If you want to fill an arena with your organization, you need to get your ticket first,” said Kevin.
Supervising Coordinator Brett Portelli stated that his why is “all about family.” Brett’s goal is to take care of generations to come. Brett’s tips for team building were:
The first thing to team building is to make the decision to make the team. Then, recruit the best team possible. Pay the price to develop the team. Then, do things together as a team. Empower team members with responsibility. Give credit for success to the team. Watch to see that the investment in the team is paying off. Stop your investment in players who do not grow. Create new opportunities for the team.
To close out the New Energy Group, Director Olivia Li shared her UnFranchise story. Olivia said, “Showing up to my first Convention was the game-changer. Once I saw JR show the plan, I was sold.” Olivia believes that whatever we lack in skills, we can be made up by numbers. Stay hungry and stay foolish. Sell tickets means to sell belief. This plugs people into the system.
JR Interview – Andrew Weissman and JR Ridinger
Vice President Andrew Weissman and Founder, Chairman, and CEO JR Ridinger came out to the stage to have a conversational interview about JR’s life and the future of the UnFranchise Business. JR introduced artist Felix Semper to the stage. Felix created a sculpture of JR that was entirely made out of paper and done by hand. The head opens up and JR compared it to “looking into his brain.”
JR first discussed why he created Market America. JR had been in marketing, but he did not like any of the businesses out there and more importantly, he hated how the marketing was not in the digital world. “People love to buy and hate to be sold,” JR said.
Andrew asked JR if he would change anything about the beginning stages of Market America. JR said that he wished that he created an incentive for UFOs to not just sponsor two team members and stop. The plan is to grow and sponsor as many people as you can handle. JR said, “The MPCP is the greatest strength and greatest weakness. It’s too good.”
The greatest reward in the business is turning an average person into a person who is a star who makes a lot of money and affects other lives positively. JR’s biggest fear is that time will run out before he changes the world.
Shopping Annuity – Don Martin
Director of the GMTSS UK Don Martin came out onstage to discuss the Shopping Annuity. Shopping Annuity is converting spending into earning. Because of the referral tracking system, we can leverage our collective buying power to convert margins into an ongoing income, force prices down, and get better margins and give increased BV, IBV, and residual income.
Don said, “We are in the perfect storm with the Shopping Annuity.” With the rapidly changing economy, retail stores are collapsing, online sales are rising, one-to-one marketing is replacing mass marketing, and entrepreneurship is rising. This is why UFOs are in the right place at the right time with the Shopping Annuity because Market America caters to all those trends.
The four ways to build a Shopping Annuity are to create BV exclusive brands, create IBV with SA/Super IBV products, fill in the gaps with Partner Stores, and create duplication.
Motives Business Building – Lisa Martin and Leigh Raeder
Director of Field Development for Motives Lisa Martin and Field Consultant for Motives Leigh Raeder explained how you don’t have to use makeup to sell Motives products. Lisa said, “Motives saves time and money by only offering the best of the best, hand selected products.”
Motives has always been ahead of the trend, promoting beauty from the inside-out for years. Between Motives beauty advisors, apprentices, pro artists, there are many ways to get your foot-in-the-door with Motives. The keys to a successful Motives event: create the right environment and have fun! The idea is to have the two people who evaluate per week to help throw an event. It’s an easy way to give them an introduction to Motives.
To learn about the business, Motives Mondays are product webinars/calls every Monday night that provide education and product knowledge to UFOs and their customers. The MBBA is a weekend event that is jam-packed with Motives education and products.
Conquer – Amanda Ridinger
CEO of Conquer Entertainment Amanda Ridinger explained that Conquer’s purpose is to help a musician to make money with their existing following. Conquer is not a platform to make some famous nor are they a record label. Their job is to help artists build their platform and bring in customers to the UnFranchise.
Conquer is lifestyle marketing. You do not need to plan on working with artists to take the CAD training, but you do need to take the training to effectively put this division into your toolbox. Why take the training? The training increases retail sales, learns about influencer marketing, and grows your following and engagement. The goal is to get an artist making money where they are at now so they are able to spend on the resources they to help them get where they want to be.
From there, Amanda discussed the Conquer mobile app. It’s an easy way to share what you wear and use on a daily basis. Take it a picture, tag it with SHOP.COM or partner store products, share custom-generated link on your social channels.
nutraMetrix – Brandi Murphy and Sarah Tugender
Director of nutraMetrix Brandi Murphy and Director of nutraMetrix Sales Sarah Tugender walked onstage to discuss nutraMetrix. nutraMetrix provides wellness programs that support the health goals of the patients and the revenue goals of the practice. There are different ways to bring health professionals into your business. A lot of it starts with conversations between UnFranchise Owners and health professionals.
Brandi and Sarah invited Tom Holden, Jacki Blasko, Lisa Grant and her son onstage to share their testimonials about nutraMetrix. Tom said that there is no better way to get involved with nutraMtrix than by attending a training. Brandi said, “Use the tools and use the trainings.”
maWebCenters – Jason Pelland
Field Development Executive of maWebCenters Jason Pelland explained why you should sign up for WebCenters. WebSolutions creates new customers, $1000 average in retail profit, 230+ BV for website sale and ongoing 5-35 BV/month.
WebCenters is a proven system for success. You need to talk to business owners and set appointments. Talk to small business owners who own restaurants, gyms, dentists, and doctor offices. Jason said, “These are businesses where you already have a relationship. You’re talking to business owners. It’s simple as asking a question of if they want more customers.”
Jason touched on Morse Connect, which is a service that allows businesses to communicate with their customers through texting. Morse Connect can be set up through your business landline or toll-free number. Now, business can promote their business and interact with customers.
The way Morse Connect works is through custom auto responses to popular question. For example, if you are a restaurant and a user texts the word, “menu,” the automated response can text back a link to the menu. The amount of responses is endless as long as you set up the keywords to trigger those responses. If a user asks a question that doesn’t involve one of the keywords, the business can send back a personal, intimate response.
Coming soon, Morse Connect is coming to US UnFranchise Owners who can purchase it in their back office. UFOs can send mass texts to their customer base to let them know they have a new product or service. Jason invited Carmen Amens, the winner of the Level Up Challenge, to share how she sold 6 websites in just over 5 months. Also, the cost of a WebCenter has gone from $300 to $100.
TLS – Melanie Nelson
To close out MAIC2019, TLS Director of Sales Melanie Nelson energized the crowd with her presentation on TLS. TLS’ mission is to empower people through caring and sharing our science based, proven, methodology to advance individuals in health, wealth, fitness, and vitality.
The four components of TLS weight loss solution are low glycemic impact eating, body composition, science base supplementation, and education. Melanie compared starting out in this business to learning how to drive a car.
Melanie said, “Money gives you a very powerful gift and that’s called time.” Whatever is holding you back in your business and your health is the story and excuse you tell yourself. Change the story and make it a positive affirmation.
After Melanie spoke, Dennis Franks spent a few minutes recapping MAIC2019 and where UFOs need to go from here.
