In the past, you’ve met the other members of our social media team! You read our blog posts, comment on our Facebook content and tweet us on Twitter! Recently, we added a new member to the team that we already love and I don’t want to waste any time introducing you to her! Jennifer came to Market America about two weeks ago and has joined us as the Health and Nutrition social media writer. She’ll be writing for Isotonix and TLS Weight Loss Solutions social media sites as well as contributing regularly to this blog. Here’s what she had to tell us about herself:
You’re new here. Tell us a little bit about yourself.
In a nutshell? I’m a Chapel Hill native that loves to travel, shop and write.
What made you want to work in social media?
In 2009 I started blogging as a way to talk about a few of my favorite subjects – such as celebrities, fashion and current events – from my perspective. Over the course of three years (before I stopped blogging full-time), I watched my audience grow, generated revenue, acquired sponsorships and was afforded some really cool opportunities along the way.
It began as a creative outlet, but my blog ultimately taught me a great deal about key aspects of social media, such as branding, SEO, SERP, keywords, digital marketing and networking. I’ve witnessed the power of social media firsthand for my personal brand and, post-grad, I couldn’t wait to work in this fast-paced, dynamic field for a living!
What is your favorite Market America product?
Right now, I’m loving my Motives® Mavens Sculpt Series contour palette!
When you’re not at work, what do you like to do in your free time?
Choose wisely: puppies or kittens?
Honestly, neither. I’m a fan – and former owner – of lovebirds.
If you had to pick one Market America international location to visit for a month, which would you choose and why?
I would love to visit Taiwan! From afar, I love the scenery and culture. The recently held 2014 Market Taiwan Convention also piqued my interest.
If you were stranded on a deserted island with one other person, who would you choose?
What is your favorite social media channel?
I’m passionate about baking, home décor and cultivating my personal style, so my favorite channel is definitely Pinterest!
