We would like to congratulate James and Doreen Ling who recently reached a new UnFranchise Level – Executive Supervising Coordinator ($15,000 – $17,999 in commissions and management bonuses within a four-week pay cycle).
Why did you start this business?
I saw it has great potential. I made me realise that there is a better way. Working hard, working 7 days a week is not the way to get both financial freedom and time freedom.
Outside of being a Distributor, what is your occupation? If you are a full-time Distributor, when did you make the transition from the 9-5 to being a full-time entrepreneur?
I used to be an accountant in the corporate world. Later, I decided to be my own boss and got into retail in Westfield shopping centres. When I was introduced to Market Australia, James & decided not to renew the leases as each expired. We close the last of the 3 stores and have been full-time in Market Australia since.
Tell us about your family.
James and I have a daughter and a son. They are both married with a daughter each. We are very proud grandparents
What do you and your family like to do for fun/recreation?
James and I love traveling and eating out. As our daughter & her family live overseas, we plan a whole family holiday each year together. When we are not traveling, we make sure we spend time with our son and his family every week. It is a joy to babysit our granddaughter 1-2 days a week.
Tell us about your lifestyle.
As I do not work in a job anymore, I choose to work at my own time. It has enabled me to devote a lot of my time to our team in Australia and overseas. I travel multiple times to Malaysia and Singapore. It is so fun to spend time together and we become really good friends.
What are some of your personal goals?
I want take all my siblings for a holiday together, fully paid by me. It will be very special to have a family reunion, bringing everyone from different countries together and spend relaxing time together.
What are some of your business goals?
Our goal is to keep building and reach Director and beyond. More importantly, we want to focus on helping more team members jump pin levels.
If you could give three key points to help share the business and what it’s done for you, what would it be?
i) By helping more people to be successful, we are automatically successful. There is no business like this.
ii) The business provides us with a great environment to learn. Thanks to this business, I have made huge personal growth.
iii) This business enables us to make so many friends from all over the world. Everyone is so friendly and humble. It is like a big family when we get together.
Have you been a challenge winner? Or recognised at any local, regional, or national events?
We always go for challenges as it pushes our business forward. We are multiple Local challenge winner, multiple MUFO, SAMM challenge winner. We have won Webcentre challenge, Chairman Challenge and Top Organisation Builder Award.
What is your best moment, so far, with Market Australia and the business?
The best moment in our Unfranchise business so far is to reach Executive Supervising Coordinator level and to see our business expanding well in Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia.
How has the GMTSS helped build your business?
GMTSS plays a big part in our success. I believe in it so much that I stepped up to be the Local Coordinator and helped lead Sydney. I am grateful that there is GMTSS in every country.
What’s your favourite Market Australia product and why?
I love all our products. But if I have to choose, I would say OPC-3 because it helped James with decrease symptoms of his mild allergies, it has helped me with enhance healthy blood circulation and help my nephew’s son with his skin health. It has also helped us stay younger looking complexion and healthy.
