With the qualifications changing for the Shopping Annuity® Master Member (SAMM) Program, more UFOs will have a better opportunity to become a SAMM, which can lead to more money for your business. With the new SAMM program, our team wanted to spotlight a select group of UnFranchise® Owners who know the Shopping Annuity inside and out.
Below is a Q&A with Director of TLS Field Development & Sales Sue Pasqual. Sue thoroughly explained her BV / IBV intake per month and the importance of becoming a product of the product.
Q&A With Sue Pasqual
SA Team: Can you share a monthly example of what you convert to BV and IBV products?
Sue Pasqual: I literally try to convert everything I need or want in order to live towards my business. Whether it be a Market America Branded product or a partner store purchase, I make an effort to use my business first. A perfect example is this current months shopping. I always drink a TLS Whey protein shake (8BV) for breakfast most mornings of the week after I work out. So, I buy at least 2 of the TLS whey protein boxes monthly. I drink it with rice milk and purchase that from either our partner store walmart.com, target.com or jet.com. During my rice milk order input, there is always something I may need for the house too (toilet paper, paper towels etc..) so I always qualify for free shipping. Since I work out regularly, I get new sneakers every 3-4 months. I generally use our partner store road runner for that.
Since I’m doing a renovation in the house, I find that my second home lately is home depot and everything I buy I use my site for. This month alone, I purchased subway tiles, grout, water leak alerts, mops, cleaning supplies, wood fill and cabinet handles. All of this went through my SHOP.COM website. Some larger items, like the subway tiles, couldn’t be shipped without a fee due to weight, so I just had them ship to my local home depot for free and picked up. I also have been in the store (and others) and need to pick up something immediately. I love the “buy now and pick up same day” option. I literally will be in the aisle on my cell phone, scroll through my website to purchase the item, bring it to the service desk and say “I ordered this online, and here’s the item.” The staff love it because they don’t have to go and search for the item! They just scan it and I go on my way! I have done this at home depot, target and best buy to name a few. Other things I purchase monthly is fish food, protein bars and other non-fresh food items. As a single person household, I don’t always need shampoo, soaps, toothpaste or razors monthly so adding those in when I do just makes it easier.
I also use all MA branded products that I can. I believe staying healthy has to start on the inside out so I use daily isotonix vitamins (2 caps of OPC, vitamin D, B, C, immune, magnesium, as well as the TLS acts, complete greens, fish oil, circumin, oxygen extreme and coQ 10. For a new person, this may be a lot to start with, but being with MA for 10 years and learning from general product trainings, product symposiums, I feel these all benefit my health. I also always have a canister of the TLS nutrition shakes available in case I can’t get in a meal as these are a great meal replacement. If you walked through my house, you will see I use royal spa shampoo and conditioner, cellular laboratories and lumiere de vie skin care (cream, wash, serums), motives cosmetics, including eye makeup removers, clear shield (cold weather hands need a great barrier!), snap laundry, cleaning supplies, plant power, and pet OPC. There isn’t a room in my house that you can walk into and not see Market America products. One of my new favorite products is the TLS trim cafe. What’s better than a smooth coffee that helps with cravings?
For my 30 IBV, although I don’t drink caffeinated coffee, I purchased a box of Shopping Annuity Coffee to have for when guests come over. I gave a few to my family as samples as they use keurig coffee so would love for them to transfer over. I also purchased the woman’s razors and the hand sanitizer. I’ve given hand sanitizers to 3 customers along with some of their product purchases. Lastly, I bought 2 of the hand soaps for my 2 bathrooms.
Living alone, I do not anticipate needing all those above items every month, but I still shop online for everyday things that aren’t YET apart of our SAMM line so will I contribute using those. I also will be searching for more OneCart items for my next autoship.
SA Team: What were the first products you used from our brands? How did you grow that list to convert more of your household products to our brands through your unFranchise?
Sue Pasqual: The first items I used were TLS shakes and OPC-3 and multivitamin. One of the things that helped me convert more, in terms of supplements, was the nutriPhysical. It gave me the recommendations to learn more about what I could benefit from. The household items were something that I converted over time. The paper shopping list really showed me what products we have available. Once I was out of an item, I would replace it with one of ours to try and have been using them ever since. If the products didn’t work, I honestly wouldn’t use them. The reason I can say that I have used our product lines for years is because they work.
SA Team: Share a Shopping Annuity Hack that drives more BV/IBV.
Sue Pasqual: I have learned to plan ahead and always buy in bulk. The rice milk I use is a perfect example. I often buy 4-5 at a time. SHOP Local is something I use, and admittedly need to use more since I like to dine out at least once per week. The biggest hack for me is using raise.com. Not only can I get reduced gift cards plus IBV and use my credit card that gives me points. Then, I double dip to the store and receive more IBV. It’s like I buy once and get paid for it 3 times. If there is something I cannot buy through my site, say I found it on amazon, I will still use my site to buy an amazon gift card in order to get credit and then use it elsewhere.
SA Team: How does the Shopping Annuity grow your retail efforts?
Sue Pasqual: Being a product of the product is so important. Why would you recommend a product you know nothing about or haven’t used? Certainly, I have not used EVERY product MA offers, but over the years, I know enough about them. So in a nutshell, knowing the products (attending product trainings), to me, is the single best way to be able to retail products. One thing I have done with my team and trainings I have conducted is to ask people about they’re favorite MA product hacks. For example, would you ever think to use the motives makeup remover wipes as a barrier to shave your legs if you’re running short on time and can’t jump in the shower?
SA Team: What would be your number one tip for a new UFO who is trying to implement the Shopping Annuity in their household?
Sue Pasqual: I would recommend each new UFO to look at the products we offer and look at what they already use and start from there. I mean they’re already buying those types of things and not getting paid. They have the potential to get paid in the future from buying them through their site. I realize most people just go to a store to buy what they want, but I think if they truly are invested into their business, taking the extra 3-5 minutes to search and then buy through their site can essentially pay them a minimum of $300. If you truly convert what you need and want into your business, there is no reason you couldn’t hit SAMM quarterly.
