October 10, 2017, Greensboro, NC- SHOP.COM® is making the online shopping experience more convenient with its new Express Pay checkout feature, while also keeping customers’ wallets in mind. A two-click process rather than just one, SHOP.COM’s Express Pay allows customers to access over 60 million products worldwide, including Market America exclusive brands, without missing key savings on shipping that a one-click checkout system can make easier to miss.
“One thing we’ve always struggled with is that online retailers want to get a customer from a product detail page through the process of checkout as fast as possible, with as little effort as it can take. When we learned that the one-click patent was going away, we evaluated it and realized a one-click didn’t make sense for our business model,” said Steve Ashley, President and COO of SHOP.COM.
Currently, SHOP.COM has partnerships with over 2,500 online retailers. These specific retailers offer more than 10 million products to SHOP.COM customers. Called OneCart® partners, any purchases a customer makes from Market America-branded products, along with any of these partners, are included together in the customer’s SHOP.COM cart for final purchase.
“We always want our customers to know what their options are and to be able to make an informed decision about every purchase they make on SHOP.COM,” said Ashley. “They may have a coupon for that purchase or realize if they add another product to their cart from that vendor, they would receive free shipping. Whatever the case, a one-click checkout may be fast but doesn’t offer the best deal for the customer. With Express Pay, our customers will have both!”
Just last month, SHOP.COM incorporated its Express Pay checkout feature by offering a faster and more user-friendly method for existing customers to reorder products. When shoppers visit their Order History/Reorder page, there are now checkboxes next to each previously ordered product. Shoppers can quickly select products they wish to reorder, which will then lead through the Express Pay checkout process.
For new customers who wish to include Express Pay checkout as part of their SHOP.COM shopping experience, they simply create a SHOP.COM account and include their billing address, shipping address and credit card information. Once their account is set up, customers will see the Express Pay button on every OneCart® product detail page. By clicking the Express Pay button, shoppers will be taken to a simple one-page checkout with their default address and payment method already selected — and all they have to do is pick their shipping method and place the order. Ordering has never been so easy!
“90% of the time, outside of the holiday shopping season, a customer is using the same information for these three areas for every purchase. Why force a customer to go through multiple steps in checkout if that is the case? So, we incorporated the information and placed it into our Express Pay feature, enrolled them in the program, which allows customers a two-click check out process. The traditional checkout process is still available as well if they need to make changes or send the gift to another address,” said Ashley.
