First thing’s first, the size of your following does not define the success of your business. Whether those you are connected with on social media are just friends and family or if they are outside of your direct network, cater your content to who you do have watching. It’s important that you stay focused and not get discouraged by the “number” of people you see. Remember that social media is one of many incredible marketing tools that you can leverage to stay ahead of the ever evolving digital landscape.
1. Create daily or weekly content themes. There are so many different aspects to running your Unfranchise business and while social media is one incredible tool that you should work with, it’s important that you manage the time you spend using it accordingly. Creating daily or weekly themes simply means assigning content topics (or themes) for each day or week in order to then fill in and take the guesswork out of what you’ll be sharing about on those themed days.
Here’s an example: Every Monday I will feature a product of the week, Every Wednesday I will share a makeup/beauty tip, Every Friday, I will discuss a topic that I am passionate about. So on and so forth…
Once those are set up, you know that you can choose a new product every monday, come up with a new tip every Wednesday and keep it personal on Fridays. Keep in mind these are guides for you but you can always choose to share more or less depending on your schedule overall.
2. Monitor Social Media Trends. Monitoring social media trends is an essential step to help the success of your social media strategy and help the potential for your content reach new audiences. What are your facebook friends currently discussing on their pages? What are the top 3 Tik Tok trends about this week? What is the trending hashtag on twitter today? These are all useful questions to ask yourself as you are browsing social media to make more informed decisions as to how you can gear your content to fit in the relevancy of what is happening in that day or that week. Having content that is relevant can help your family, friends, customers and/or audience feel more compelled to engage with your content as it is about something top of mind.
3. Set time just for social media. Yes, social is a tool that is used mostly for leisure; however, if you are making the conscious decision to leverage social media for your business, you need time blocked on your calendar to do so. Make sure to block appropriate time for content creation (may it be filming a makeup video, tiktok video or even taking a selfie with your favorite product of the moment), set time to write down your weekly/daily themes and set time to engage with current and potential customers.
