One of the biggest advantages Instagram has over other social media platforms is the convenient way to instantly share a picture on several platforms, all from one app. Users can share photos onto Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Flickr and Foursquare. This is especially useful for business owners as efficiency is crucial.

According to Social Media Today, “The most obvious – and likely beneficial – way to utilize Instagram’s new account switching functionality is to better manage your business and personal accounts.” Instagram has made it simple to switch accounts. “Go to your profile settings to add an additional account. From there, tap your username at the top of your profile to switch between accounts. Once you have multiple accounts added, you’ll see your profile photo appear in places throughout the app so you can always tell which one you’re using at the moment.” For those of us that manage a business account (or two) on top of our personal account, this is HUGE! Just like the Twitter app, users can now switch freely through accounts with ease.

Late last week, Instagram made another exciting announcement promising that users will see many improvements to videos this year. To kick off the improvements, videos posted on Instagram will show view counts in the coming weeks. “Over the next few weeks, you’ll start to see how many times people have watched a video on Instagram. Views are the most widely expected form of feedback on video. That’s why you’ll begin to see view counts underneath videos where before you’d normally see likes. You’ll be able to see likes by tapping ‘views.’” Presently, there isn’t much more information regarding this change. Follow Instagram’s blog for more updates.
