Social Media Monday: Recent Updates to Instagram Stories

Since it was released, Instagram Stories quickly became a huge part of Instagram. Across all of our corporate and brand pages, we LOVE Instagram Stories! It’s a versatile, fun way to step out of the box with posts as well as share our favorite posts from users. Instagram Stories has had quite a few updates recently to make the user experience even better. Read on to find out more about the latest updates to Instagram Stories.

Instagram Stories

  • Add Older Content: Instagram has added the ability to add older videos and/or photos rather than only images from the past 24 hours. If you’re a planner, the ability to add older content makes it easier to plan in advance for quick posting at a later date.
  • The Superzoom Tool: If you’re familiar with Boomerang, you will love the new feature that allows users automatically zoom in dramatically on a set image. Play around with it in your next Instagram Story!
  • Desktop Version: Instagram is very reliant on mobile users. If you’ve ever visited Instagram on a desktop, you’ve seen it’s very minimalistic. Recently, Instagram has made Stories available on the desktop version. You can now view stories on the desktop version of Instagram, instead of it being a mobile-only feature.
  • Stop-Motion Camera: Currently in testing, the stop-motion camera feature allows users to take a series of photos, and then assemble them into a video.

Have you tried out any of the new Instagram Stories features yet? Share your experience with us in the comments below.
