When you think you’re on the guest list only to get turned away at the entrance. We’ve all been there; you come up with a clever tweet only to be shut down because you exceeded Twitter’s infamous 140 character limit. According to a little bird, that may no longer be the case! Read on to see how Twitter plans to be a game changer in 2016!
Sources say Twitter is getting ready to role out a feature which will remove the 140 character limit on tweets. Real soon, you may start to see people tweeting their hearts out with a rumored 10,000 character limit! Last week, CEO Jack Dorsey gave the biggest hint that this may become a reality as early as this winter!
In his post Dorsey explains:
“We’ve spent a lot of time observing what people are doing on Twitter, and we see them taking screenshots of text and tweeting it.” (Dorsey’s post was shared in the form of a screenshot of some text).
“Instead, what if that text … was actually text? Text that could be searched. Text that could be highlighted. That’s more utility and power.
It seems the limit of 140 characters isn’t what makes Twitter so powerful. Instead it’s the real-time connection to what’s going on in the World.
There have been mixed reviews on Twitter’s potential change all over the web and we want to hear from you! Do you support the limited to increase? Are you interested in seeing longer tweets on your feed? Let us know in the comments below!
