As we build our business, we’re going to have good days and bad days. On the good days, we will feel excited about what’s ahead of us. And on the bad days, well, we’re going to feel less enthusiastic than usual. We all have days where we just don’t feel like we are moving in the right direction. These dips in motivation are completely normal and nothing to be ashamed about. In fact, it’s a great sign that we’re human! Thankfully, we’ve got everything we need to help us navigate our surges and dips.
Understand that nothing lasts forever
Celebrate your wins as they come! Knowing that nothing is permanent will help you stay grounded when things are going exceedingly well. It keeps you focused on your mission and prevents you from getting ahead of yourself. But when things aren’t going your way, know that this dip will also pass, and your next surge is just around the corner.
Build a vision board
A vision board or dream board is a collection of images, quotes and anything else that inspires you. It is good practice to have one for yourself and encourage your teammates to build one as well. Place your vision board in a space you often see so that it takes zero effort to notice and be reminded why you’re building your business. Creating and presenting a vision board can also be a good team-building exercise to instill into your organization’s culture. Make it a point to give every new partner a chance to build and share their dreams with the team through their vision board because this will help them stay focused on their goal when they experience surges and dips in their journey.
Surround yourself with people who support you
Surrounding yourself with positive people is a massive component of keeping the motivation up when things get tough. It’s easy to get discouraged and lose sight of what really matters when you are surrounded by negativity and pessimism. You must do everything possible to avoid this, as it will affect your business massively. One of the biggest benefits of building an UnFranchise® Business compared to other endeavors is that we all have guaranteed access to people who are supportive of our efforts, hopes and dreams! Be sure to take advantage of this the next time you experience a dip in motivation or business progress. Attend an in-person event, whether it be a GMTSS training or a Home Business Presentation (HBP), and let the positive atmosphere do the rest. When your surges come — and they will come — be sure to celebrate with your team of people who support you, too!
Everyone has good days and bad days. Don’t let a few dips in your journey get you down. Let your goals and community keep you focused and on track. Create habits to surround yourself constantly with the right people and be reminded of why you’re building your business with tools like a vision board and goal statements daily. As long as both good and bad days happen regularly, everything should work out well over time. Just remember, dips are a part of life — but surges are, too!
