Kristina Sing: I lost 21.5 on the 12 week challenge. I am maintaining at around 20 lbs total.
Jamey Sing: I lost 37.5 in 12 weeks and currently down 50.5 lbs. My peak weight was about 230ish.
What was the most difficult part of your weight loss journey?
KS: The difficult part was getting past my own mind. I/We achieved far more than we ever imagined. I had to get out of my own way and believe that I could succeed.
JS: I agree with my wife. This journey is at least 95% mental. We have tried and failed to lose weight in the past. The thought of a “diet” can be very overwhelming especially when you are talking a large amount of weight.
What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned about weight loss?
KS: You have to eat! Don’t skip meals and snacks and the need for both protein and fiber at each meal/snack.
JS: The most important is that, with a real solution like TLS, you can be successful and exceed any of your wildest dreams for what your body looks like and feels like. I/We did this by eating “real” food and it works! I see this as a true lifestyle change and can easily see this continue long into the future.
What is the most rewarding thing about losing weight?
KS: I am lighter on my feet. I can run faster and longer. I feel strong going up stairs.
JS: The most rewarding for me is the way clothes fit and how I see myself in the mirror these days. My cholesterol is normal and I know that I have really improved my quality and length of my life!
What advice can you give to people who are currently working toward their weight loss goals with TLS?
KS: Be present and take one day at a time and one moment at a time. Don’t fret about yesterday, make a good choice now. Enjoy each and every bite of food. Notice and enjoy the smell, texture and taste of each bite. The little changes and behaviors can add up to huge success!
JS: Define your “why’ and just start the TLS program for a few weeks. You WILL see results. As the pounds drop, you will become more and more excited about the process and that will lead to unimaginable success.
My first goal was 180. When that came and went I choose not to set a “new” final goal as I don’t know what is possible. Each 5 pounds I lose is only a benchmark of my journey. My next stop is under 150!
