We recently featured Joanne Orshan’s Newsday article on our blog, but we were so inspired by her transformation with TLS® that we wanted to learn more about her weight loss journey. Read on to learn how Joanne lost over 50 pounds and never looked back!
I lost a total of 55 pounds.
2. What was the most difficult part of your weight loss journey?
Believing that the weight would stay off [was the most difficult part]. It was a slow process, frustrating at times, but I learned that steady, slow weight loss is the key to success in maintaining this lifestyle.
3. What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned about weight loss?
Education. I thought I knew everything there was to know about weight loss and tried every quick fix out there. What I have learned is that putting the pieces of the puzzle together is what makes for long-term success. Healthy Low-GI food choices, exercise, hydration, sleep, stress management and keeping a food journal is key.
I feel energetic, and know I am healthier. I love how I can go into my closet in the morning and decide what I want to wear, not what will fit. I am a role model for my family and the students I teach.
5. What advice can you give to people who are currently working toward their weight loss goals with TLS?
Wishing the weight away will not make it so. It is hard work, but there is nothing more rewarding than seeing the results. Remember why you are doing this. Believe that you are worth it. This is your journey. Remember, one day at a time, small success leads to great results.
