I talk to many people who have an urge to express themselves and will even say something like, “I think I should blog but I don’t have a clue how.”😊
I personally have been blogging on and off for the past few years and right now, I’m more on than off 😊. That’s the cool thing about blogging. It’s YOUR online journal to do with as you wish and when you want. Of course consistent blogging is the best for creating or building a personal brand, and gaining a following, but it all counts!
There are many reasons to blog. You might just feel the need to express yourself and share your life, ideas or philosophies. You might be looking to brand yourself and let the world know who you are. To keep it simple, blogging is simply an online journal that is yours to do with as you like. Just like writing in a book that you keep for your thoughts and meanderings, so can a blog. You can get creative because there is no right or wrong!
One of my favorite reasons to blog is that I can connect with people who might connect with me. Who knows where that relationship might take me in the future? Future customer, business partner, or friend? Who knows! One of the great things about blogging is that you get to store your blog posts and use them forever. For example, I have written a blog post about the benefits of magnesium and I often go back to that and share it with customers, potential customers and people in general who are looking to improve their health. It is online content that can be repurposed both online and offline and forever holds its value. This is particularly handy when you are taking time to write a blog post and feel that you are taking precious time out of your already busy schedule. Well guess what? You may be taking time out now, but you will get to leverage that post and the time you spent on writing it! It’s very awesome! We all love leveraging now, don’t we?
How do you get started? You can google “How do I start a blog,” and get all the info you need. You can use platforms such as WordPress.com, which I use because it’s free and simple to use. They even offer daily tutorials to get you in the swing of things. Here is a link to an article featuring some blogging platforms and their pros and cons
The biggest piece of advice I have for you is to have fun with it. I really enjoy blogging now and even look forward to it. Feel free to google me to find my blogs if you are looking for ideas for blogging and remember blogging is like art and you can create anything you want!
