Next, Vice President Amber Ridinger-McLaughlin and her beauty team launched new Fixx, Motives and Layered collections. Especially moving was the Inspiration Charm Necklace displayed, with a “believe” charm reminiscent of JR. Winners of the Best in Me ‘23 Contest were also announced during Amber’s presentation. “The Best Me in ’23 Contest was created to help motivate you and give you the confidence to get back out there and do these trunk shows and retail Motives, Layered, Lumière de Vie and Fixx products,” Amber said. First place winner Julianne Moroni, second place Lorraine Kong and third Christina Lempesis received raucous applause for their triumphs. Then, the Art of You Campaign and Contest was announced, running from Sept. 1 to Nov. 30 for Motives retailing.
After Amber, Market America Worldwide | SHOP.COM President of Urban and Latino Development Joseph “Fat Joe” Cartagena spoke as he always does — from the heart. “Nothing is impossible. Everything’s attainable if you work for it. If you’re relentless. If you never give up. You’ve got to work harder than everybody else.” Fat Joe’s presentation roused the crowd and reminded us of our roots, always calling back to JR Ridinger and the imprint he left on everyone around him.
Elizabeth Weber-Walliser also experienced JR’s profound effect and found success through his mentorship. “I took JR’s advice and bought 10 tickets to my next event, and it was the best decision I ever made,” Elizabeth said. “I took that leap of faith. A true testament to belief, the Challenge Winners and UnFranchise Owners who achieved higher UnFranchise levels concluded the day being recognized on stage by Vice President Andrew Weissman and Vice President of Sales Jim Winkler. Hearing UFOs’ stories during these segments brought the event full circle to the vision JR had for the company: empowering YOU to be successful. Wing Kwan Lilian Chan from Hong Kong exemplified this. “I’m so honored to be here,” Lilian said. “I have been doing this business for 15 years, and it’s not easy…but I always think about why I started. Our ‘Why’ is very important as a source of motivation and persistence. Thank you all, and keep rocking all the way to the top!”
