Don’t Lose Momentum, Stay on a Holiday Shopping Roll!

We have another 360-odd days until Black Friday and Cyber Monday come around again. Whew! Though last weekend was one of the biggest shopping weekends of the season, now is not the time to lose traffic to your portals! As a Shop Consultant, there are many ways to keep customers shopping with you all season long. Here’s how to stay on a holiday shopping roll:

Advertise Hot Deals
Make sure that your customers know that there are still great deals to be found online! Link to the SHOP.COM Hot Deals page with Facebook posts, tweets, or in emails. Deals are changing every day and many stores have specials leading all the way up through the end of the year!

Educate about eGifts
eGifts are a great way to keep customers shopping through your portal during the holidays. Make sure they know how eGifts works and how it can help them. We wrote about eGifts on the blog last week, but here’s a refresher:

Trying to find a last minute gift for Jane? Add 3-4 gifts that you think she’ll like to an eGift for her. Click ‘send eGift’ and an email will automatically go to Jane, presenting her gift options. Once she picks her favorite, you’ll be billed for the gift and it will be delivered directly to her!

Promote the SHOP.COM Gift Card
When one of your customers buys the SHOP.COM Gift Card to give a friend or family member, it means they’ll be expanding your business when the gift card recipient comes to your portal to shop!

Do your Research
As Christmas approaches, don’t allow your customers to panic or allow shopping to become a chore instead of something fun! By doing a little research, you can be prepared to answer customer questions that may arise:

  • Find the top toys of 2012 on SHOP.COM.
  • Keep a list on hand of perfect ‘last minute’ gift ideas.
  • Know important dates about shipping.

Plan Ahead
The day after Christmas is a big brick & mortar shopping day and it’s going to be a big day online, too! Many stores will slash prices on seasonal merchandise. Make sure that your customers remember this day and are ready to visit your portal to take advantage of deals on SHOP.COM!
