On Film: Going Behind the Scenes with Carmelo Anthony

Market America has one of the best multimedia departments around. Whether it’s testimonials from some of our leading entrepreneurs, or commercials for some of our greatest products, they’re creating the videos (and the audios!) that can help you move your business forward. Most recently, they created the Isotonix® Champion Blend Plus ad, featuring Carmelo Anthony. Now, we’re giving you a behind the scenes look at what it was like on set!

ma Blog: Everyone knows Carmelo Anthony is a basketball star – so what inspired you to feature him in a research lab?

Multimedia Team: It was actually Carmelo’s idea. He’s an incredible athlete, but also a really smart guy. We wanted to showcase who he is as a person – and have fun with it! He’s a charismatic guy. He’s the guy who’s already ahead of the class. He knows Isotonix Champion Blend Plus works because he’s the smartest guy in the room, and we wanted to show that off.

maB: So what was it like to work with Carmelo?

MT: Carmelo was great to work with. He’s such a nice guy, and so laid back. He gets the job done while still having a good time. We filmed all his shots in 2 hours – which is really fast. We filmed the commercial at a high school in New York, and he took the time to take photos and sign autographs for some of the students, too.

maB: What was your favorite part of filming this commercial?

MT: With this, we got to be really creative in a really condensed period of time. We really pulled the whole thing off in about 48 hours! Parts that we hadn’t fully developed, we got to work out on set with Carmelo there – like “it’s all about the science.” That came out of being on set together. It was a great, creative atmosphere, and it’s always fantastic to see something like this come together.

maB: So how do you see Independent Shop Consultants using this – and other videos – to grow their businesses?

MT: This video is perfect for business building. It’s fun to watch, easy to share, and it has star power behind it. We create some very technical, in-depth videos. They’re great for specific audiences, but something light-hearted and fun like this is accessible for everyone. It still includes the science behind the products, but doesn’t get too caught up in it. This is fun to watch, so it appeals to a wider audience. Sharing it helps a wide range of people get to know Market America and the products behind your business.
