Wow, it is truly amazing what is happening in the business with the reshuffling of the cards in the economy and the financial markets. You read or listened to my messages on the economy last month and how it fuels the business. More people than ever are shopping in the internet for convenience, to save money in gas and time, to comparative shop, and to get the best deals. There is tremendous trend to online shopping. You are at the right place at the right time! Meanwhile traditional stores and brick and mortar are closing down , cutting back or switching to on line. In case you haven’t heard: Circuit city filed chapter 11, Ann Taylor is closing 117 stores, Lane Bryan and Fashion will be Bug closing 150 stores, Eddie Bauer is to close stores 27 stores and more after January, Cache will close all stores, Talbot’s is closing down specialty stores, J. Jill closing all stores (owned by Talbot’s),Pacific Sun wear (also owned by Talbot’s) is closing, GAP announced closing 85 stores, Footlocker closing 140 stores more to close after January, Wickes Furniture closing down, Levitz is closing down remaining stores, Bombay is closing remaining stores, Zales will be closing down 82 stores and 105 after January, Whitehall is closing all stores, Piercing Pagoda is closing all stores, Disney is closing 98 stores and will close more after January, Home Depot will be closing 15 stores 1 in NJ (New Brunswick), Macys is to close 9 stores after January, Linens and Things is closing all stores and going to a on line model, Movie is Galley closing all its stores, Pep Boys is Closing 33 stores, Sprint/Nextel are closing 133 stores, JC Penney is closing a number of stores after January, Ethan Allen is closing down 12 stores, Wilson Leather is closing down all stores, Sharper Image is also closing down all stores, K B Toys announced closing 356 stores, Loews announced that they are going to close down some stores, and Dillard’s is to close some stores. It just proves what we have been saying and preaching that the stores and brick and mortar retailing model is too inefficient with too much overhead. Some of these are moving to a on line model and the weaker ones are just closing up shop forever.
Well listen to this. The proof is in the pudding folks. MA had a record sales week last week for the month of November compared to previous years. We did nearly 10 million in retail sales or 7.5 wholesale. That is incredible and validates my point. It is a combination of recruiting and building the business because people are looking for a solution and to diversify or strengthen their income. People are looking and listening like never before. Now is the time to make it happen! There is a tidal wave of growth sweeping the country and you need to ride it in on top. We have the solution!
