With the 2012 Market America World Conference less than a week away, we know the excitement is growing rapidly. To help you prepare for your big trip to Miami, we have compiled a list of travel tips and things to consider for the 2012 Market America World Conference!
– Split up your valuables. Separate bank cards, cash, traveler’s checks and credit cards as much as possible! Keep items in different pockets and bags when packing. This gives you a little extra insurance, just in case.
– Inside your luggage, write your home and destination address (and cell phone number) on a self-adhesive sticker in a visible place. If your luggage is lost and the baggage label has come off, at least the airline can still figure out whose luggage it is.
– If you plan to use a backpack at the convention (and we recommend that you do!) pack it so the lighter items are on the bottom and the heavier ones are on top. Your bag will feel lighter this way as the pack rests on your lower back.
– Be sure to bring plenty of pens, pencils, paper, notes books, anything you might need to take plenty of notes. There will be a lot of information shared, and you’ll want to make sure you have what you need to take it all down.
– Don’t forget to bring power cords for your phones, computers, iPads, etc. There are NO charging stations inside the arena, so be sure to charge everything overnight.
– Use plastic bags to wrap up your toiletry items, such as shampoos and liquids. In case something leaks, it won’t get all over your clothes. Also, bring a few plastic grocery bags in your luggage to store your dirty clothes for the trip home.
– When packing, use the “roll technique” instead of traditional folding. Just lay your clothes long ways and roll from top to bottom. Bags tend to hold more if the clothes are rolled rather than folded and get less wrinkled.
– When traveling with others and checking bags, divide clothes between different suitcases.If one person’s luggage doesn’t arrive at the destination, they’ll still have clean clothes available.
– Bring a reusable empty water bottle for your carryon. Once you are through airport security, you can fill it up at a water fountain to help you stay hydrated on the plane.
Store your shoes inside shower caps to stop dirty soles rubbing on your clothes. Bonus, you can find complimentary shower caps in just about every hotel.
– At the 2012 Market America World Conference, be EARLY!!! The earlier you are to the arena, the better seats you will get and the more prepared you will feel for all the excitement!
– The 2012 Market America World Conference is what you make it! Be engaged and don’t let anyone or anything detour you from attending every session in the Main Arena.
