In partnering with Pathways Center of Greensboro Urban Ministries and Bikes for Kids Foundation, we’ve done just that, and in turn built relationships with some wonderful organizations in our community who we would like to encourage you to support in any way you can.
Pathways Center of Greensboro Urban Ministries
The Pathways Center, a program of Greensboro Urban Ministry, began operation in 1981. Pathways’ primary purpose is to provide a safe environment for families who are experiencing homelessness, giving them a stable home while they search for other housing options. Families come to Pathways due to a variety of reasons, such as eviction from housing they could not afford, living in overcrowded or substandard housing, and domestic problems. During their stay, each family must participate in case management and establish a plan for housing stability, meanwhile this housing assistance gives them the opportunity to pay off back bills and save money for deposits.
As a product brokerage company, Market America | SHOP.COM has countless goods in beauty, skincare, home & garden, and beyond that make an impact on families who are in transition housing. Whether it’s makeup for job interviews, cleaning supplies for upkeep at the Pathways Center, or vitamins to help support health during all seasons, each product counts. We’re extremely proud to have contributed to a family shelter in Greensboro who does so much for our community!
Bikes for Kids Foundation
Bikes for Kids Foundation’s goal is to impact all Title 1 schools in the United States. Every dollar contributed goes toward sponsoring a third grade class in a Title 1 school with three character-building books for each child in the third and fourth grade, a yearly classroom poster, as well as a bike and helmet to be given to each child during an awards ceremony.
Bikes for Kids Foundation has no salaries and no outside expenses or administration costs within the organization. All operational functions are voluntary and go toward changing children’s lives and the future of our communities.
Market America | SHOP.COM proudly partnered with Bikes for Kids to provide disadvantaged children with the joy and freedom that every kid should get to experience from having their very own bike. Our team was able to volunteer to help assemble and give away bikes to third grade students from Oak View Elementary alongside Bikes for Kids’ fantastic crew.
“For us to be able to supply them with a bike just before Christmas and make their dreams come true, it means everything,” President of Market America Marc Ashley said. “It’s what everything’s about. It’s priceless. It’s beautiful, and we’re just glad Market America is a part of these types of activities to help our youth grow and aspire to be great, which we know they’ll be.”
