Next week, get ready to see a few new enhancements to your Market America web portal. First up — in order to improve our search engine optimization (seo) efforts, anytime someone enters your web portal name. For example, www.marketamerica.com/loren, their website URL will now change to www.marketamerica.com. While it may not look like they’re still on your web portal — rest assured, they are.
This leads me to the second update — which is a major update (and pretty exciting in my opinion). Now, anytime you or your customers visit your Market America web portal or any Market America affiliated site (Ex: nutraMetrix, mini-websites, etc…) you’ll begin to see a toolbar at the bottom (see pic). This toolbar serves two functions.
- Identify who’s web portal a customer is visiting.
- Provide proper links to each page — which you can then use to market your web portal on Facebook, Twitter, ma Chatterbox, via email, etc…
I’ve personally tested this and am impressed. While there will be a few habits users will need to change when sharing links. For instance, rather than copying and pasting a website URL from the website address area; now I can simply go to my toolbar at the bottom (which follows you on every page on marketamerica.com and Market America affiliated sites) and copy the correct URL to share with others.
Who’s excited? Not only will this now help improve our SEO efforts, but you can ensure that you’re now sharing a valid link with your customers.

Sounds great to me. Will have to get used to going to the bottom to get the URL, but sounds great.

this is great!!! it used to always be broken links when copy and pasted. i don’t know about not having my name on the site though.

This also means that your customers need to be told about this change so that they don’t copy and paste when they tell other people. Most people will not know this or do it.
I think I could get use to it alright. My fear is all my customers may not realize the difference when sending the link to thier friends and relatives and I will be losing potential customers.
This is a welcomed change as many distributors didn’t know that asp pages used as links in emails etc., end up as a blank page or is redirected to the front page. I was one of many, I’m sure, who requested this change. Previously I would send a page to myself using share via email just so I could then grab the link and pass it to others. Thank you for acting on our suggestions.. another reason why we will succeed with Market America as the mother ship!! Aloha… Great job…
This is excellent!! No more multiple actions to share links and your distributor name is still in the toolbar and upper right corner as a customer manager, just not in the URL. For better SEO it’s worth it.

Thanks so much! I used this yesterday as soon as I saw that it was available! I am one of those who did not realize that simply copy/paste of the URL from the website address area would not always work.

I do think this is a wonderful upgrade but I am still concerned about the 5 people I gave my website to in the past week, before I knew about htis change. Is it fair that others will get my customers that I worked so hard to get??
