Loren Ridinger & Steve Ashley on Social Media

You know it, you love it. You know that WE love it! Social media and business building is a match made in heaven! Steve and Loren gave the crowd a crash course in social media marketing this morning, breaking down the must-do’s and do-not-ever’s of social sharing.

Twitter and Facebook dominate the social media traffic for most users, especially Twitter as it grows faster than Facebook every day. Use Twitter to include links to your product and portal with the appropriate hashtags. On Facebook – listen! Hear what everyone else is looking for or sharing about their life. By listening, you can respond to others with the solution you found in the business and product. Marketing statistics show that 92% of industry professionals acquire people through Facebook, so use it to your advantage!

“The number one thing to do on social media is to listen.” – Loren Ridinger

Instagram, Loren’s favorite channel, with 130 million users, allows for incredible influence with very few words. By producing meaningful and quality content on Instagram, you can show others how entrepreneurism has changed your life and how the products are successful for you, all while driving them to your portal.

So how do you build a following? These few simple steps: Follow others and get noticed, run contests to build followers and brand your product, ask questions about others, share frequently, and engage with people engaging with you! Most importantly, be a friend to your follows and be consistent!

After overviewing proper utilization of social media, Steve and Loren jumped into the future of business branding: social searching. Social searching means looking for the people who are looking for you. By searching key words on Twitter and Facebook Graph Search, you can find people who are talking about and asking questions about areas where YOU are the expert!

To round out their presentation, Loren introduced Store Ya, an online application that creates an online store embedded on your Facebook that can hold up to fifty products! For a limited time, use the code “SHOP.COM” for a 25% discount when you set up your Store Ya shop for your Facebook business page.

Following Steve and Loren, Jim Winkler elaborated further on incorporating business and social media as he spoke on Facebook accountability and using Facebook to stay connected, involved and motivated. Jim cited several helpful resources including conference calls, the accountability form, and the use of Facebook groups for teams. Accountability is an essential aspect for staying motivated and moving forward, and Facebook makes that simple and automatic.

Results require work, Jim said, so get started today by making a phone call and make an appointment, and keep moving.

This morning, Duane and Amber McLaughlin also launched the newest and most innovative venture for Market America so far – DNA Miracles™, an all-natural, organic infant care line. Read the recap of the presentation here!

This has been an incredible week and there’s so much more to come this afternoon so check back later for a recap of the afternoon session!
